Frequently Asked Questions
I have experience in child-care but no qualifications; can I still apply for work?
Yes, you can, depending on the level of experience and how it was gained. This can be discussed further – please contact us by e-mail or telephone.
Will I get work every day?
As we are offering relieving work, we cannot guarantee hours, but we have many relievers who have been with us for several years, working as many days as they like.
How far do I need to travel?
You can choose to travel to the suburbs you prefer.
I have another part-time job every Wednesday. Is this a problem?
No, as long as we are informed. We put these details onto our database, so that we do not call you unnecessarily for work on that day.
My children are at school and I need to collect them at 3pm, and I can’t work in the school holidays. Will I still get work?
Yes, again, inform us of your routine. We have long and short day placements, and we will match your needs to Centre requirements.
I have a diploma of teaching (ECE) and I do not want relieving work; instead, I’m looking for a permanent position. Can you help?
We are sometimes requested to recruit permanent staff for Centres throughout New Zealand. If so we can arrange interviews and support you through the process.
I am a foreign national, with a visitors’ permit to holiday in New Zealand. Can I work for your company in New Zealand?
To work for Preschool Staffing Solutions, you will require a current visa which allows you to work, (not a visitors permit unfortunately), and we will request to sight it.
